A GRAND DESIGN! GRAND DESIGNS LIVE BIRMINGHAM NEC 0CT. 09
| The Project |
We were at the NEC Birmingham for the Grand Designs Live Exhibit 9th - 11th October 2009. We built decking using a composite deck product in a garden designed by David Robinson from Up The Garden Path www.upthegardenpath.net the design drew much interest especially the water features! We also install the lighting supplied by PLM Illumination of Kidderminster which created the right look for the design. Around the other side of the garden we built the staging used for the Garden Experts to do their demonstrations & talks upon. It was a great show & there was loads of interest in our company & our services & products used in this design. |

BALCONY & WALKWAY
| The Project |
This client in Willesden Green London had no usable garden space at all and wanted to make use of what space he had for outdoor entertaining and to create a peaceful garden to his busy corner of London! He wanted wood that would silver up quickly so as to look like it had been in for some time. We designed and built them a balcony from patio doors off their bedroom with a bbq area underneath just outside of their kitchen. A walkway leading off the balcony along side beautiful flowers, shrubs and greenery, down to a corner seat at the top of a new stairway with under storage for all of their garden accessories to be stored away when not in use. We gave them a new entrance to the front door which was also usable for a small table & chairs and planters, a small water feature at the side of the stairs, garden lighting and a new block paved driveway to finish the project off! |

We have several different types of handrail systems, the contempory stainless steel wires allowing a maximum view out from your balcony - for more information visit www.s3i.co.uk |

COMPLETE GARDEN RE-DESIGN AND MAKEOVER!
| The Project |
This client in Knutsford, Cheshire had a tired and very over grown garden and with the purchase of a new hot tub wanted a completed garden transformation. We built them a new decked area to the rear of the house accessible through patio doors, which surrounded the new hot tub, this then led down to a new Indian Stone paved area which incorporated a Slate Monolith water feature. In the left hand corner we built a pergola covered seated area. With the addition of a new garden summerhouse and new stone walling and turf this gave the client the wow! factor they were looking for! Again garden lighting was installed to give atmospheric ambience. |

CURVED DECKING & BESPOKE STRUCTURES
| The Project |
This client in Wimbledon lives in an Art Deco style house and was keen to mirror the curves of the walls with curves on his decking. We gave him just that and more! He wanted a contempory feel to the garden so to achieve this, we used stainless steel ballustrades and handrails, a stainless steel water feature and walkways into the garden, to a bespoke summerhouse and a deck around a sunken trampoline for his children. The timber used was Yellow Balau hardwood, with marine stainless steel decking lights and spike lights in the garden to highlight trees, water feature and shrubs to great effect! |

DECK LIGHTING
| The Project |
The correct lighting to your newly installed deck or in the garden can create the correct atmosphere and ambience. A cold garden can be made positively Medditeranean with the fitting of Amber marine stainless steel LED deck lights! We installed them in an African themed garden makeover in Oxford, which you can see from the photographs it really worked! Blue and the white lights give a much clearer crisper look to a contempory deck and along with green lights are brilliant as garden spike light colours for highlighting specimen trees, shrubs, bamboos and plants. They make good markers down steps too. Please ask us about deck lights and we shall be only to happy to provide you with the necessary leaflets and information. |

DECKS AROUND HOT TUBS/SPAS & SWIMMING POOLS
| The Project |
We also design & build decking to surround & enhance hot tubs, spas and swimming pools. We created a beautifully curved deck and deck floor for a breeze house for a TV show for Discovery Home & Leisure Channel on Sky TV, a programme called \"Mens\' Rooms\" where we helped to create an African themed garden along with Designer Mark Selwood for a client in Oxfordshire. We also replaced an old cracked and dangerous paved area around a swimming pool in Reading and built the deck to enclose the childrens trampoline at the side! We also put a pergola top over one hot tub for privacy and to give the client a changing area with storage cupboards. |

DISABLED DECK & ACCESS RAMP - AIMS 2 CURE JUNE 2007
| The Project |
Last week we completed a deck and ramp with ballustrade and handrails in Pine for a lady who suffers from MS. With the help of the charity Aims 2 Cure we were able to give the lady access once again to her garden with the aid of her wheelchair. She is able to entertain guests and friends on her deck outside her patio and also there is a smaller area just past the tree, that she wished to be retained. She is absolutely delighted - as were we to help!

HOLMES CHAPEL, CHESHIRE MAY 2008
| The Project |
We were asked by the clients to take out some of the garden and a small pond at the rear of their cottage and conservatory and replace it with a decked area with ballustrade and handrail along the garden edge. This deck was constructed using treated Scandinavian Pine softwood deck boards. The client asked that we keep his much loved Japanese Acer, so we cut out a square section underneath and around the tree, the soil then being covered with anti weed matting and white pebbles for effect. The edge of the deck and underneath the tree had marine stainless steel LED deck lights fitted for atmospheric effect in the evenings and to highlight the tree. Upon completion, the deck was coated with Seasonite New Wood Protection, a clear wax-like product that soaks into the new wood to give added protection and restore the colour for the first few months. This was carried out beautifully and sympathetically by Refresh-A-Deck who have now worked along with us on quite a few of our projects. The couple here are delighted with their deck which they are planning to put to full use shortly for a family gathering for their Wedding Anniversary. |

LINCOLN CASTLE-COMMERCIAL PROJECT FOR LINCOLN BOROUGH COUNCIL
| The Project |
We were asked by the Council to build a deck and walkways in a small courtyard which was inside the old Victorian Ladies Prison within Lincoln Castle. This was being opened in the summer to the public for the first time and they wanted not only the deck to link the 2 doorways in and out of the attraction itself, but asked us also to make a bespoke plinth in the centre to house a small bronze model of the castle. It is used daily whilst the attraction is open, by hundreds of visitors each year, it has also been used to hold amature plays based on the prison and last year our deck was the setting for a marriage proposal! MEIR HEATH STOKE-ON-TRENT MAY & JUNE 2008
| The Project |
This is the project that we featured over the past 2 - 3 weeks on our ongoing projects page. The decking is complete for now, we are to go back sometime in the near future to add more features to this project. The decking boards used are Yellow Balau hardwood. We created sexy curved steps from the patio doors down onto the main deck area, down to a bench seat between 2 bespoke planters. This was screened for privacy by a willow screen panel. Our top professional fitter Dominic, created a beautiful curved bench seat along the opposite curved edge to the deck above the established pond and flower beds. The decking is this week being coated with Seasonite New Wood Protection for us by Refresh A Deck. We shall return in the near future to take more photographs onece the deck has been in for a few weeks and the planting has been carried out.

REFRESH-A-DECK
| The Project |
This year we have joined forces with Refresh-a-Deck, who are also members of the Timber Decking Association. They offer a deck cleaning, oil and stain service, including cleaning outdoor wooden furniture. Last year we completed a decking project for clients in London, you will see the deck in our completed projects under Small Difficult Access Decks. They wanted to keep the original dark/reddish colour of the natural timber, so we sent in Refresh-a-Deck who cleaned the deck off using a specialist cleaning fluid and then once dry, oiled the deck to bring it back to it\'s beautiful original condition and colour. SALMONS LEAP, CHESTER APRIL 2008
| The Project |
The customer had a roof top over looking the River Dee that he wished to make full use of and to be able to take in the breaktaking views over historic Chester towards the cathedral and the river itself. He chose after meeting with us to discuss the best options for his project, we decided on composite decking, as this carries a 25 year guarantee from the manufacturer with a high level of anti-slip and is of low maintenance, ideal for roof terrace conditions! We also built a bespoke Sea Captains Chest to keep all his cushions in for his seating and to save having to take them up and down the steps plus this can be used as seating too. Around the inside of the ballustrade we created large planting areas for flowers and shrubs. These were filled with a high grade top soil and an anti-weed matting placed over. Stainless steel wires in the handrail system so as not to obscure the view. See Mr Meakins comments on our testimonials page. |

SMALL DIFFICULT ACCESS SPACES
| The Project |
We come across many times, especially in the London area, gardens where there is little or no access. This project was only accessible through the house from front to rear. As you can see it was up several steps from a small terrace onto what was a grassed area (the grass refused to grow!!) with a planted border on 3 sides with a large tree at the top of the garden.
We built a bespoke Ipe hardwood deck complete with amber deck lights to give warmth to the garden in the evenings and to compliment the richness of the timber.

WAREHAM, DORSET
| The Project |
This was featured on our ongoing project page, we have only just got around to moving the pictures over after this was completed! The deck was constructed using Cedar boards. The clients home was also built some years previous using cedar cladding etc. so she wanted to compliment the house with decking using the same timbers. We put in steps, handrails and incorporated a bench seat. This was a large deck, sitting on a slight sloping lawned area at the rear of the property and raised of the ground. The client also opted for some stainless steel LED deck lights to be installed. The project took approx 3 weeks to complete. |
